By using this pamphlet to earn the merit badge for Wood Carving, Scouts will learn the basics of artistic design, along with material selection, tools and techniques, and wood-carving safety.
The requirements of the Wood Carving merit badge introduce Scouts to an enjoyable hobby that can become a lifetime activity. Upon earning this merit badge, Scouts will be able to explain and demonstrate the following: paring cut, basic cut, push cut, score line, and stop cut.
Each pack is encouraged to use the Wolf Pocket Certificate card to recognize each Cub Scout as he earns the rank of Wolf. This recognition takes place during the monthly pack meeting.
