This event patch supports the Scout Surge 9.11 program through which the Boy Scouts of America are joining with The Flag of Honor/Flag of Heroes Project to offer an awe-inspiring opportunity for today’s Scouts to learn about the tragedy of September 11, 2001.

This program will “unleash the power of our Scouts” by encouraging them to serve in their communities September 1-10, 2011, using the suggested service projects and posting them to the web and social media channels. Then on September 11, Scouts are encouraged to gather as groups and invite non-Scout friends to watch the movie, New York Says Thank You, which tells the story of the first responders to the New York City terrorist attacks and which features Scouts from the Little Sioux tornado tragedy.
